  • Dietrich Bonhoeffer Poster
    Item #: BXAP023
“We need to remember great moments of moral courage.” – Glenn We are excited to be the first to offer this magnificent poster of Dietrich Bonhoeffer to all our friends. Glenn has this poster in his own office and you may have seen this image of the young Bonhoeffer on Glenn’s program. Bonhoeffer was one of the outstanding moral heroes of the 20th century — perhaps, the last great figure of WWII whose story was largely unknown to most Americans until Glenn’s friend Eric Metaxas wrote the best-selling biography that introduced Glenn to this amazing person (Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy). Bonhoeffer shows us that having courage to speak out against Evil and to resist it is the essential thing. For him, it ultimately meant execution at Hitler’s direct order for his efforts to save Germany from the Nazis and the Jews of Europe from total destruction. Printed on high quality 100 lb. text and available in two sizes: • Full Poster Size: 24” x 34” — $20.00 • Smaller Size: 17” x 24” — $15.00 The Bonhoeffer poster is a great gift for family and friends and especially for students away at school. Special pricing for multiple purchase: save 20% off when you order three or more posters (any combination of sizes)

  • 1791 Topsy The Elephant T-Shirt
    Item #: BXCT125
Thomas Edison, "The Wizard of Menlo Park," was a vigorous proponent for direct current (DC) power distribution—a technology in which he was a patent holder. George Westinghouse, an American entrepreneur, had licensed Nikola Tesla's alternating current (AC) technology, and argued that it was superior to Edison's DC power. The two visionaries engaged in a bitter competition that would come to be known as the War of Currents. Edison was so determined to discredit alternating current that he devised a public display to demonstrate how dangerous it was. In 1903, Edison sent 6,600 volts of AC through Topsy, a condemned circus elephant, in front of a crowd of onlookers. Topsy died "without a trumpet or groan." This bizarre story illustrates what happens when competition and innovation—both good in and of themselves—become more important than moral integrity. In a time when technology advances at breakneck speeds, it is vital to consider the implications that technological progress will have on human kind. Made in the USA Tri-Blend (50% Polyester, 25% Cotton, 25% Rayon) construction. Machine washable.
